Driving the development of sustainable tourism

The Smart Tourism Destinations project, launched by the Secretariat of State for Tourism, aims to be the driving force in promoting and encouraging the digital transformation of Spain’s tourism areas and destinations. The aim is to stimulate the sustainable development of tourism and ensure tourist satisfaction as well as improving living conditions for local populations.

SEGITTUR is working on the Smart Destinations project for the Secretariat of State for Tourism. This works towards a tourism development model based on the concepts of governance, innovation, technology, sustainability and accessibility, in order to guarantee both the present and future of tourism.

A model that is internationally recognised by well-known organisations and institutions such as the UNWTO, the OECD, the IDB and the WTTC.
